There are 83 [a] modern Summer Olympic athletes, who made their Olympic debut in and have identified as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, pansexual, non-binary, queer, or have openly been in a same-sex relationship.

With the Olympics right around the corner, we couldn’t think of a better way to support Team USA than lifting up the incredible LGBTQ+ athletes leaving their mark in Paris. At least 29 openly LGBTQ+ athletes are on Team USA’s Olympic roster this year, with most either playing basketball or rowing.
