Gay marriage in north dakota
Same-sex marriage has been legal in North Dakota since the U.S. Supreme Court 's ruling in Obergefell v. Hodges on June 26, , which invalidated state bans on same-sex marriage throughout the United States. Previously, North Dakota had restricted marriage to the "union of one man and one woman" both by statute and in its State Constitution.
The North Dakota House of Representatives passed a resolution Monday proclaiming the interpretation of marriage as between one man and one woman. The measure passed on a vote and will advance to the Senate for its consideration.
